The Kunstenfestivaldesarts is one of the partners in NXTSTP, a new and ambitious long-term project that is part of Culture 2007, the European Union culture programme. NXTSTP involves a network of seven European performing arts festivals, and its aim is to boost the coproduction and circulation of the performing arts in Europe. Next Step will help give an extra push to performing artists on the verge of an international breakthrough. They will then be able to make the move to major theatres, tour easily around Europe and thus appeal to new audiences. You can already get a taste of the results - a first - at Kunstenfestivaldesarts 08: we shall be presenting new work by Berlin (Antwerp), Thomas Hauert / ZOO (Brussels), Aydin Teker (Istanbul) and Kris Verdonck (Brussels).

The performing artists supported by our other partners include Claudia Dias (Lisbon), Charlotte Engelkes (Stockholm), Miguel Pereira (Lisbon) and Michel Schweizer (Bordeaux).
